Welcome to The Red Lion
Corinne & Mouse welcome you to The Red Lion, a delightful, award-winning 16th century half timbered, thatched inn in the heart of Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, one of Oxfordshire’s most beautiful villages.
Having recently took The Red Lion over from the previous owners Sue & Bob, we are passionate about keeping the local friendly atmosphere alive and well during our tenure and welcome all customers, old, new and of course dogs!
A cosy traditional beamed pub and restaurant with a pretty courtyard garden, The Red Lion promises a warm welcome, well-kept locally brewed ales, interesting wines, and a regularly changing menu of freshly sourced local ingredients.
The Red Lion offers a friendly, relaxed environment to enjoy a drink with friends. Warm and cosy in the winter with our roaring log burner, or cool and light in the summer. We pride ourselves in the wide variety of locally brewed real ales we have on tap and the quality wines available by the glass and bottle. We also offer a wide selection of Continental lagers, ciders, spirits, soft drinks and not forgetting our beautifully kept Guinness. Why not pop in to sample a drink or 2 or perhaps try one of our many coffees; from Cappuccinos to Americanos, Lattes and Espressos.
Dining out is one of life’s little pleasures, and at the Red Lion we do everything we can to ensure you thoroughly enjoy your visit. From the food on your plate, to the locally grown fresh flowers on your table, we take care over every little detail.
Here at The Red Lion we regularly hold weekly club nights such as Ukulele Club, Book Group & Art Group where everyone is welcome. Along with the clubs, we have Jazz Jam, Open Mic Nights and various local bands performing here. Please see events notices on the website for future goings-on.
